Six Things...

Anne Voskamp, from one of my favorite blogs A Holy Experience, recently posted "Six Things Every Christian Blogger Should Know" at (In)Courage. It has really got me thinking.

source
Why do I blog?
How can I use my words to serve the Lord?
What do I do when my blog is no longer a platform for worship?
How do I blog for a bigger purpose?

"And we blog as sacrificed servants who, like our Lord and Saviour, expose our own wounds, lay our real hearts out naked, and be vulnerable and humble and willing to be made an offering. In the upside down kingdom the only way up is down and there is no other way to be great and this is always the call of Christ in our life, to come and die and this is always our vocation, to be a servant.
Dying on an altar is the way we live in the upside down kingdom and we are a success when we serve because service is worship and this is what we were made for: Worship."

Miscellany Monday: Thanksgiving and What Not

1. Thanksgiving with family

The last week was nothing short of amazing! Kyle and I spent a full 6 days with my parents in Pennsylvania and it was wonderful to be home, hug and kiss my family, and be reminded what I am truly thankful for.

Don't mind the turkey sticker. Kyle is growing a beard and he wants his parents to be surprised with the final reveal!

While in PA we went to Primanti Brothers, a staple for Pittsburghers. I am ashamed to say that I've never been there, so it was a great adventure!

Their sandwiches are loaded with cole slaw (the vingeary kind) and french fries

I thought mine was yummy.

Mom and I started a craft project. It was looking great, and then we ran out of Christmas balls. I'm waiting for her to send me the final pictures.

2. Getting ready for Christmas

I pulled out the decorations today. We don't have many, but then again we don't have much space either. I'm excited to post pictures soon.

If you're looking for some great Christmas music, may I suggest the "folk holiday" station on Pandora.

Go to pandora.com (and log in or create an account)
Click on Genre Stations in the lower left corner
Click on "holiday" and then "folk holidays"

So good!

3. Cyber Monday

If you're interested in buying a few handmade items for that lady on your list (wife, girlfriend, sister, whomever), I'd love it if you stopped by my shop and took a look around.

Enter the coupon code CYBERMONDAY2010 for 15% off your order!

4. Vera sale

I have quite a large Vera Bradley collection and in trying to be a bit more minimalistic (and not get trapped under my huge purse collection) I would love to sell a few. Send me an e-mail if you'd like to know which ones I am selling.

Saturday is Crafty Day #24

I hope you are all having a great (crafty) Thanksgiving weekend!!

Welcome to another craft-tastic Saturday. Saturdays are the days I look forward to the most. My hubby works, and, as a major introvert, I love having the whole day, just me and kitty, to clean, cook...and craft!

So if you're anything like me and just love to be crafty and creative on the weekend, I'd love it if you linked up! Anything crafty, creative, and original will do...even if you didn't make it on a Saturday :)

So here are a few of my favorites from last week:

Garland wreath from Pickup Some Creativity

Heirloom diamond tuck pillow from Straight Stitches

Peppermint wreath from Krafty Kat

Now it's your turn.

To be a fashionable woman is to know yourself, know what you represent, and know what works for you.  To be "in fashion" could be a disaster on 90 percent of women.  You are not a page out of Vogue.  ~Author Unknown
